What Is A Notarial Act?

A Notarial Act is each official notarization performed.
If multiple notarizations are required, each is billed separately.

What Does A Notary Do? 

A Notary Public is an impartial witness who verifies identity, willingness, and awareness during the signing of important documents.

  • Verify the signer’s identity
  • Ensure the signer understands they are signing voluntarily
  • Complete the proper notarial certificate
  • Create a legally valid notarization

What Does A Notary 'Not' Do? 

Notaries are not attorneys and cannot:

  • ​Explain or interpret legal documents
  • Choose document wording for you
  • Advise you on what to sign
  • Tell you where to sign unless it is the notarial section.
  • Understanding these limits protects both you and the notary

How Much Does It Cost? (Transparency - No Funny Business)

  • $10 Notary Fee (per Signature/per Document) 
  • $25 Standard Travel Fee (Within 20 miles of Hampton, VA Service Area)
  • Outside 20 Miles (Additional $2 each mile outside of 20 miles) 
  • $35 Witness Provided by Notary (per Witness/per Appointment)
  • $60+ Notary Fee for On-Demand Emergency Service                         
  • $45+ Notary Fee for After-Hours (after 8pm)  
  • $40+ Notary Fee for Weekend Service                    
  • Travel Fee added to ALL services
  • 3% Service Fee for all Credit Card Payments

Absolutely, yes. Mobile service is available to:

  • Other agreed-upon locations

What Do I Need?

All signers must present a valid, government-issued photo ID.

Do You Provide A Witness?

Certaingly, Yes. Witnesses are available for $35 per witness/per appointment.

When Is Payment Due?

Notarial Act Payment is due at the time of service, unless arranged in advance. Additional service fees are due at booking. (i.e. Travel Fee, Notary Provided Witness Fee, Emergency/Week-end/After-Hours Fee) 

  • Same-Day Bookings Non-Refundable
  • Advance Bookings Refundable if cancelled within 24hrs of Scheduled Appointment

Can Service Be Refused?

Fortunately, yes. Service may be refused if:

  • Proper ID is not provided
  • Documents are incomplete
  • The request violates Virginia law

What I Need to Know Before Booking?

Please be prepared with:

  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • All documents fully completed (no blank spaces)
  • All required signers present
  • Witnesses present (if required) or requested in advance
  • Payment ready at time of service

Important Notices:
In all fairness and professionalism, if notarization cannot be completed due to missing ID, incomplete documents, or signer unavailability, all fees still apply (except $10 Notary Fee). As a courtesy arrangements can be made to reschedule the appointment. At the time of the newly rescheduled appointment, only the $10 Notary Fee, Travel Fee and Notary Provided Witness Fee (if applicable) will be required at the time of the newly sceduled appointment.
